
Phuket, Thailand – January 21, 2026, Prince of Songkla University, Phuket Campus, in collaboration with a network of international massage and spa experts from the New Massage Association, Qrose Academy, and Thara Spa & Beauty, held a press conference to announce the NewMa Asia Massage Championship 2026 at Kathu Conference Room, Prince of Songkla University, Phuket Campus.
The international massage championship will take place from 23–25 January 2026 at Chaofa Conference Room, Prince of Songkla University, Phuket Campus. The event is expected to welcome more than 500 participants and attendees from various countries around the world.




The championship aims to provide an international platform and networking opportunity for massage therapists and health and wellness professionals worldwide who are dedicated to the art of massage and the pursuit of high-quality service. Participants will have the opportunity to demonstrate their highest potential in massage techniques, creativity, presentation, communication skills, and the ability to create exceptional client experiences, as well as to design environments that support holistic wellness.
Beyond recognizing and awarding outstanding talents in each category, the competition plays a significant role in establishing international professional standards for massage therapy and contributes to elevating the overall quality of massage practices globally.




The NewMa Asia Massage Championship 2026 features a comprehensive range of activities, including: International massage competition, Master Class Workshops – 15 sessions led by world-renowned massage masters (3 hours per session), Master Demonstrations by expert practitioners, Master Massage Sessions, Massage, spa, and wellness product exhibition booths, Gala Dinner, a concluding Phuket Unseen Tour for interested participants.
The championship includes eight competition categories: Asian Traditions, Western Traditions, Nuad Thai Inspired, Sport Massage, Face & Head Massage, Spa-Wellness & Relaxing and Spa Wellness & Esthetics.
In addition, the competition features two special divisions: New Talent Division and International Division, along with three Special Awards for Table Set-up, Innovation, and Empathy. Judging will be based on the following criteria: table set-up, equipment, and product presentation, Massage techniques, Ergonomics, Massage flow and continuity, Innovation, Interaction with the client, Overall client experience.




The collaboration in hosting the NewMa Asia Massage Championship 2026 at Prince of Songkla University, Phuket Campus, reflects a strong commitment to knowledge transmission and professional development. The event provides students with valuable opportunities to participate as volunteers and to learn closely from world-class experts, contributing to sustainable human resource development and the future health and wellness workforce.


This initiative also aligns with the mission of the Andaman Health Hub Establishment Project, Prince of Songkla University in strengthening education, professional standards and international collaboration in the health and wellness sector.
