Phuket – April 2, 2026 – Phuket Province, led by the Phuket Provincial Office of Culture, has joined forces with public agencies, private sectors, and local residents to support the Ministry of Culture’s “Proud to Wear Thai Across the Nation” policy. The initiative encourages Thai people to wear traditional Thai costumes and contemporary Thai-inspired attire.

In Phuket, strong participation was seen from personnel across various organizations and interested individuals, who dressed in traditional Thai outfits and gathered for photo sessions at key landmarks. Notable locations included the Chartered Bank Intersection in Phuket Old Town and the Dragon Plaza, symbolizing a united effort to preserve and promote Thai cultural heritage.

This activity represents a continuation of policies aimed at promoting “Thai attire” as a form of Soft Power, enhancing Thailand’s image on the global stage while stimulating tourism and the local economy through broad public participation. The atmosphere was lively, with both Thai and international tourists joining in to capture memorable moments. These images are expected to be widely shared online platforms, helping to amplify the movement and showcase national pride in Thai attire to a global audience.

Phuket Province is also set to further promote Thai-style dressing as part of everyday life, alongside advancing sustainable economic and cultural development.
