This event is a collaboration between the Rugby Football Association of Thailand and the Leicester Tigers Club from England under the “Rugby for Life” project, held at Phuket Rajabhat University, with 266 youths and coaches from the southern region participating.

This activity is a result of Air Chief Marshal Manat Chuanaprayoon’s initiative to elevate Thai rugby by fostering cooperation between the Thai Rugby Association and the Leicester Tigers team, supported by Pol. Lt. Col. Kulthon Prachuapmoh.

The “Rugby for Life” project was established, with the Leicester Tigers, a prominent team from England, sending James Russell Wade, Recruitment and Rugby Partnership Manager, and Dave Wilkes, Leicester Tigers Coach, to set up the rugby clinic in Thailand. The aim is to pave the way for the creation of an academy to develop Thai youth rugby players and to select talented athletes to train in England. The selection in Phuket took place on July 14 – 15.
