Phuket – On November 22, 2023 at the Faculty of Management Sciences, Phuket Rajabhat University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hirun Prasarnkarn, President of Phuket Rajabhat Phuket University, chaired the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for environmental and natural resource management collaboration in Phuket province.
This collaboration is part of the ‘Rajabhat Loves Environment’ project, joining forces with 10 organizations, including the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Phuket, the Office of Marine and Coastal Resources Region 10, the Office of Environmental and Pollution Control Region 15, the Phuket Provincial Public Relations Office, the Forest Resources Management Center of Phuket, Sirinat National Park, the Phuket Provincial Administration Organization, Phuket City Municipality, Phuket Vocational College, the Provincial Agricultural Council of Phuket, and the volunteer network for natural resources and environmental conservation in Phuket communities.
Dr. Pichanan Poolkerd, the Deputy Director of the Research and Development Institute, stated that due to the rapid development of Phuket, environmental management and natural disaster issues have become more prevalent. Continuous and widespread efforts are necessary to educate and raise awareness among the public, businesses, and communities in the area. This aims to foster sustainable conservation and environmental protection in Phuket province. Therefore, Phuket Rajabhat University has collaborated with 10 organizations to work together in developing academic activities related to environmental and natural resource management. This includes research, academic services, and the preservation of arts and culture associated with environmental and natural resource management. The goal is to enhance the potential of youth, communities, and civic networks for future endeavors.
