
Phuket – July 27, 2025 – Mr. Suvit Phansengiam, Deputy Governor of Phuket, together with Mr. Rewat Areerob, President of the Phuket Provincial Administrative Organization (PPAO); Mrs. Kanokphan Pranweerapaiboon, Chairperson of Rurak Samakkee Phuket Co., Ltd.; Mr. Thanet Tantipiriyakit, President of the Phuket Tourist Association; and Dr. Kwannapatsara Chantalae, Managing Director, jointly held a press conference announcing the “Phuket Lobster Festival 2025,” which will be held from August 1–31, 2025. The festival celebrates a decade of success under the concept “Lobster Legacy, Gastronomy for the Future”, continuing to promote the identity of Phuket Lobster as a form of Thai soft power in the global culinary scene.
The event will also include a panel discussion on “Food, Culture, and the Future of the Local Economy,” supporting Phuket’s transformation into a global Culinary Destination in line with the “Phuket 4.0” policy. This year’s festival is supported by Rurak Samakkee Phuket (Social Enterprise) Co., Ltd., along with public and private sector partners who remain committed to social development and grassroots economic progress. The organization will officially adopt its new name starting with Phuket Lobster Festival 2025.




Mr. Suvit Phansengiam emphasized that the Phuket Lobster Festival is a key initiative for establishing Phuket’s culinary identity. It is aligned with sustainable development policies, including:
- Establishing the Phuket Gastronomy Center as a hub for local food education and innovation
- Promoting equitable distribution of tourism revenue to local communities
- Enhancing Phuket Lobster Quality Assurance standards in collaboration with relevant agencies
- Driving online and digital marketing efforts
- Increasing culinary tourism revenue by 30% within the next three years
Mr. Rewat Areerob, President of the PPAO, added that the organization prioritizes strengthening the grassroots economy, with major projects including:
- The Lobster Farmer Academy, offering training in premium lobster farming and disease management
- A 50-million-baht fund to support small entrepreneurs, with a special interest rate of 2% per year
- Development of a Phuket Lobster Central Market, complete with cold chain and traceability systems
- The One Tambon One Lobster Product initiative to promote unique processed lobster products from each subdistrict
- Establishing the Phuket Lobster Cooperative to boost market power
- Promoting Farm-to-Table tourism and developing the Phuket Lobster Direct app to connect producers and consumers directly




This year’s festival will feature over 100 restaurants across Phuket offering more than 500 special lobster dishes at promotional prices throughout August. Tourists can also enjoy special offers, especially around National Mother’s Day, along with partner activities—such as Chang beverages, which will provide aprons to participating restaurants.
