The joint initiative aims to open pathways for Thai youth to pursue further education in China while enhancing Chinese language proficiency aligned with future labor market needs.
Mr. Thirapong Chuaychu, Deputy Governor of Phuket, stated that Phuket is a world-class tourism destination with strong economic and cultural ties to China, noting that Chinese visitors remain one of the province’s key tourist groups. Strengthening Chinese language skills and achieving standardized HSK certification, he said, are critical to boosting workforce potential and supporting the continued growth of Phuket’s service and tourism sectors.

The Consul General of the People’s Republic of China commended Thailand’s leadership in Chinese language education, highlighting that Thailand was the first country to incorporate Chinese into its national education system. He further noted that 2025 marks the 50th anniversary of Thailand–China diplomatic relations, a milestone expected to further deepen and broaden educational cooperation between the two countries.
Ms. Thanarat Promsuwan, Education Specialist from the Regional Education Office 6, added that the expo provides a vital platform for creating new pathways for further study, employment in China, and language skills development among youth—particularly important amid the growing interconnectedness of the Thai–Chinese labor markets. Meanwhile, Mr. Liu Xiaolong, an executive from Hanban/CTI, reaffirmed the strong educational ties between Thailand and China and expressed appreciation to Thai partner agencies for their continued support of HSK examinations and the advancement of international Chinese language education.

The event featured information booths on further study from leading Chinese universities such as Tsinghua University and Peking University, career guidance sessions, HSK registration services, Chinese cultural exhibitions, and panel discussions by experts from both countries. A large number of students, university attendees, and teachers from multiple provinces participated.
