Phuket – Mr. Prayuth Rattanawan, Phuket Provincial Fisheries Officer, together with representatives from the Phuket Provincial Commerce Office and relevant network partners, convened a meeting under the project to enhance capacity and promote the marketing of the “Phuket Seven-Colored Lobster.” Mr. Pawaris Ratcharak, also known as “Ko Pan,” an entrepreneur and lobster aquaculture farmer, joined the discussion to exchange insights and explore systematic development approaches at Ko Pan’s Seven-Colored Lobster Farm in Ban Pa Lai, Chalong Subdistrict, Mueang Phuket District, Phuket Province.

During the meeting, participants acknowledged the progress of the Geographical Indication (GI) registration for the “Phuket Seven-Colored Lobster.” Discussions were also held on preparing guidelines for the use of the GI logo and establishing a quality control system to maintain product standards and strengthen consumer confidence both domestically and internationally.

The “Phuket Seven-Colored Lobster” is distinguished by its vibrant colors, firm texture, naturally sweet flavor, and absence of any fishy odor. Cultivated in the nutrient-rich and pristine waters of Phuket Province, it is regarded as a premium ingredient with strong potential for value creation. The product serves as an important mechanism for driving the local economy forward toward sustainable development at the international level.
