The “Phuket Jewelry Fair 2024 – Connect Phuket, connect the world” is organized to showcase the works of jewelry manufacturers. Jewelry distributors and shops are set up, both from Phuket and provinces nearby Bangkok. This event was successfully coordinated by Chanthaburi Chamber of Commerce who has merged over 50 shops to participate in the event, which takes place until February 4, 2024 at the Floresta Mini Convention Hall, 2nd floor, Central Phuket Floresta.
Mr. Sopon Suwannarat – Phuket Governor, expressed his congratulations and admiration for the Phuket Chamber of Commerce and related agencies who organized this event, marks the first time such an event has taken place in Phuket, serving as a multi-dimensional response, including support for SMEs, product manufacturers, and business matchmaking. This has resulted in increased circulation of income into Phuket province and the overall economy of Thailand.
Mr. Kongsak Koopongsakorn, President of Phuket Chamber of Commerce, said Phuket Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with PIC Phuket Co., Ltd. with support from the Gem and Jewelry Institute of Thailand (Public Organization) or GIT, the Department of International Trade Promotion (DIP), and partners like Benz Phuket, Yayee brand, the Chanthaburi Chamber of Commerce, the Association of Gem and Jewelry Traders in Chanthaburi, and the Thai Goldsmiths Association, have jointly organized this event.
The objective of “Phuket Jewelry Fair 2024” is to include this event in the “Connect Phuket, connect the world” project of Phuket Chamber of Commerce. This initiative aims to open the market for gemstones and jewelry from manufacturers and wholesalers nationwide, connecting them with retail stores, factories, and fashion jewelry designers in Phuket, as well as in the Andaman region.
The event serves as an opportunity for tourists to see Thai brands from across the country, supporting Phuket residents in recognizing the high-value business opportunities in the fashion industry. It establishes a pillar in the economic trade sector through international tourism, with an estimated 10 million visitors coming to Phuket every year.
Mr. Thanes Triwut, member of Phuket Chamber of Commerce who proposed the project, stated that while Phuket may not be a source of high-value gemstone or luxury producers, the province holds a strategic advantage as a significant international tourist destination in Thailand. Despite lacking a trade center, initiating this first-ever jewelry exhibition is a crucial initial step. It aims to expand into showcasing various other products in the future, considering Phuket’s potential to accommodate the trade of various goods, both through tourist groups and international chambers of commerce, such as those from Australia, America, England, and Russia, as well as consulates and embassies in the region. It’s noted that numerous jewelry companies from Hong Kong, as well as Mahesak and Chanthaburi provinces, have actively participated in this event. Therefore, this is the true goal to establish Phuket as a genuine trade center.
“Phuket Jewelry Fair 2024 – Connecting Phuket, connect the world” takes place from now until February 4, 2024 at Central Phuket Floresta. The entry is free.
