Phuket – February 3, 2024, Mr. Norasak Suksomboon – Phuket Vice Governor, presided over the opening ceremony of the 8th Phuket Lantern Festival which takes place from February 3 to February 24, 2024.
Joining the event were Mrs. Phanee Koysomboon, Managing Director of Limelight Phuket Community Mall, Mr. Tiwat Sidokkuab, Phuket Provincial Administration Organization Vice President, Mr. Saroj Angkanapilas, Phuket City Mayor, Mrs. Ratchadaporn O-in, Director of Phuket Tourism and Sports Office; Ms. Suneerat Rujimas, Assistant Director of Tourism Authority of Thailand Phuket Office, and Mr. Kongsak Koopongsakorn, President of Phuket Chamber of Commerce. The opening ceremony took place at Limelight Phuket Community Mall.
The Phuket Lantern Festival, known as ‘Pang Teng Hoey Yawn Siao Che,’ is a festival where people of Phuket come together to decorate their homes with beautiful lanterns and clean their houses. It is an activity that families can participate in together, fostering a sense of love and unity. Limelight Phuket has been actively preserving and promoting this beautiful tradition every year.
The Chinese New Year will not be complete without the Lantern Festival. Therefore, everyone in Phuket is invited to join in decorating homes during this Lantern Festival and welcoming tourists who come to admire the beauty of lantern decorations. Embrace the auspicious atmosphere during both the Lantern Festival and Chinese New Year celebrations together.
