Phuket – March 4, 2024, Mr. Adul Chootong, Phuket Vice Governor, along with Mr. Rewat Areerob, President of Phuket Provincial Administration Organization, Mr. Lertchai Wantrakuldee, Director of Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Phuket Office, Mrs. Kornticha Watthanaphan, Chairperson of Thao Thepkrasattri- Thao Sri Sunthorn Foundation, and relevant parties, held a press conference for the annual event ‘Thao Thepkrasattri- Thao Sri Sunthorn Historical Drama and Cultural Activities Fair 2024’ under the theme ‘Light and Sound Show, Historical Drama of Thao Thepkrasattri – Thao Sri Sunthorn, and Cultural Activities Fair’ at Central Phuket Shopping Mall, Wichit Subdistrict, Mueang, Phuket. The event was attended by executives, council members, government officials, honored guests, and media.

Thao Thepkrasattri – Thao Sri Sunthorn Fair is held to honor the bravery of two heroines and heroes of Thalang, allowing Phuket people to express their gratitude and pay tribute to those who have contributed to protect the province during the war in the past. Additionally, the event also promotes tourism in Phuket by showcasing local history, way of life, and culture, serving as a means to introduce tourists to the history of Phuket.

In organizing the historical light and sound drama performance of Thalang this year, marking the 239th anniversary of the Thalang Victory Day on March 13, 2024, the performance will be conducted under the title ‘The Great Heroism of the Heroines of Thalang, Thao Thepkrasattri – Thao Sri Sunthorn: The Battle of Thalang Against Nine Armies.’

Besides the highlight light and sound show, the event will also feature cultural and local traditional activities, the sale of local products, OTOP products from Phuket, delicious Phuket food, and many other activities.

The event will take place from March 13 – 15, 2024, starting from 5 pm onwards at Thalang Monument (Heritage Site of Thalang) in Thalang District, Phuket. Those who will participate the event are encouraged to dress in Thai attire to complement the theme of this year’s event.
