Dubai, United Arab Emirates – On May 6, 2024, Phuket Tourism Association (PTA), supported by  Phuket Provincial Administration Organization (PPAO), led over 30 tourism entrepreneurs from Phuket to participate in the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2024 trade show. The event took place from May 6 – 9, 2024  at the Dubai World Trade Center in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

The Arabian Travel Market is the world’s third-largest trade show, with a focus on targeting the Middle East tourist group, which is a potential market to increase the number of tourists during the green season.

For this event, Miss Thapanee Kiatphiboon, the Director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand, and Miss Nipa Nirannoot. Consul-General of Thailand to Dubai and the Northern Emirates, along with the management team of TAT, Mr. Thanet Tantipriyakij – PTA President and members, Mr. Pongsura Koopongsakorn – Secretary to the PPAO, together with the PPAO members, and Phuket entrepreneurs, participated in the official opening ceremony of Thailand’s pavilion held on May 6, 2024.

The Phuket Tourism Association, in collaboration with the Tourism Authority of Thailand, organized an event within the Thailand Pavilion. In the section dedicated to Phuket Province, community-based tourism and products from local communities were showcased, including Phuket pineapple cakes, tofu pudding, dried mango kernels, and Thai tea. Additionally, there were activities for visitors to learn more about Phuket’s community and local dimensions, which attracted great interest from attendees.

Furthermore, the Phuket tourism business group has engaged in joint business negotiations with tour operators from the Middle East and Asia for a full 4 days, expecting a positive response from these tourists, who are considered lucrative customers. The focus will be on luxury and family-oriented tourism, targeting high-spending quality tourists who can contribute to Phuket’s tourism market throughout the year.
