Phuket – On July 30, 2024, Mr. Sophon Suwannarat, Phuket Governor, along with Mr. Anupap Wetchawanitsanong, Phuket Provincial Administrative Organization Vice President, Mr. Kan Prachumphan, Mr. Lerchai Wangkarakooldee, Director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand, Phuket Office, and Dr. Khwannapatsorn Charntalay, Managing Director of Pracharath Rak Samakkee Phuket Co., Ltd., held a press conference to announce the “Phuket Lobster Festival 2024” at Kata Walking Street, Kata Beach, Phuket.

Phuket, in collaboration with the Phuket Fisheries Office and Pracharath Rak Samakkee Phuket (Social Enterprise) Co., Ltd., has scheduled the “Phuket Lobster Festival 2024” from August 1-31, 2024. This year marks the 9th edition of the event, which continues to be lively with the participation of over 100 restaurants across Phuket, creating more than 500 lobster dishes. Examples include Lobster-Stuffed Thai Pancakes, Mala Sauce Lobster, Pineapple Fried Rice with Lobster, Sticky Rice with Phuket Lobster, Open-Faced Lobster Gyoza, and Phuket Lobster Ice Cream. Visitors and participants will experience the deliciousness of lobsters cooked with unique recipes and techniques.

The event not only generates income for the community and enhances Phuket’s reputation but also serves as a treat for tourists from around the world during Phuket’s rainy season, as it does every year. Special for this 9th year celebration, each restaurant has prepared special promotions, especially for Mother’s Day, encouraging everyone to treat their mothers to lobster with exclusive offers. Additionally, Chang Beverage Company will provide aprons to participating restaurants to boost the event’s excitement. The campaign “August, Take Mom to Eat Lobster” aims to make the “Phuket Lobster Festival” a renowned event. This collaboration with the private sector in the hotel and food industry showcases innovative lobster dishes, boosting local food businesses’ income and adding value to local products while promoting sustainable use of natural ingredients.
