Phuket – YAYEE CRAFT HOUSE, a local clothing store that creatively designs art on fabric, run by descendants of Phuket locals, presents “From Batik Culture to Storytelling Through Fabric” at its Sino-Portuguese building on Phuket Road, on September 9, 2024.

YAYEE CRAFT HOUSE serves as a hub for craftwork from the brand. On the first floor, visitors can find ready-to-wear clothing and community-made products. The second floor houses a sewing room, which can be viewed by visitors, and custom clothing can be ordered according to customers’ preferences.

Additionally, there is a zone for renting traditional Baba-Yaya costumes from Pinn Tung, the costume rental shop of the YAYEE brand, at affordable prices. The collection also includes dresses worn by beauty queens from major pageants in the country.

All of YAYEE’s products are 100% made in Phuket, crafted by local communities, including female inmates from Phuket Prison, who participate in the production process.

To celebrate the brand’s 8th anniversary on September 15, YAYEE will host an event titled **”YAYEE – The Rising Peranakan”** at the Old Kathu Distillery in Phuket. The event aims to showcase the modern era of Peranakan culture in Phuket, with the goal of engaging younger generations and connecting the concept of “contemporary culture” that is accessible to everyone.

The event will feature four key aspects of Peranakan identity: architecture, cuisine, attire, and emotions. Each part of the event will be designed to highlight the connection between Peranakan culture in a modern and unique way. The highlight will be a fashion show, featuring celebrities, influencers, models, and heads of various associations, demonstrating that YAYEE clothing is suitable for everyone, regardless of body shape, and can make anyone look stylish on any occasion
