Phuket Province has set a vision under its development plan to become a “Global Marine Tourism Hub,” leveraging local lifestyles and regional strengths to drive tourism activities. The Phuket Old Town tourist community serves as a key attraction, showcasing the unique blend of Sino-Portuguese art and architecture, while integrating the local way of life and identity, such as cuisine and traditional clothing. This is accompanied by the development of tourism activities and marketing promotions through events, under the concept of “Phuket Soft Power: Buildings, Food, Fashion, and Emotion.

The Phuket Old Town Tourism Promotion Event is one of six activities held across the Andaman provinces, aiming to present local heritage and community assets from each province to tourists.

Phuket has chosen to present under the concept “Phuket Old Town: Stories of Phuket.” At the event, tourists will experience a variety of activities, including:

  1. Workshops with Phuket’s community tourism networks.
  2. Art exhibitions by Thailand Biennale artists from the Phuket Art Association.
  3. A lighting installation show on the second floor of the Clock Tower at Dragon Square, with a daily light and sound art performance, shown five times a day starting at 7:00 p.m.
  4. Cultural performances by local youth and artists, along with a diverse selection of food trucks.
  5. Beautiful check-in photo spots that reflect Phuket’s cultural heritage.
