Krabi – On November 8, 2024, at 6:00 PM, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Southern Region hosted the ‘Wonder Andaman Night’ Reception Dinner to present the direction for promoting tourism in the southern Andaman region, welcoming the high season. The event was attended by Mr. Suwit Suriya Wong, Deputy Governor of Krabi Province; Mr. Apichai Chatchalermkit, TAT Deputy Governor for Domestic Market; Ms. Watchanan Silpworawanwiwat, TAT Southern Regional Director; TAT Directors of the six Andaman provinces (Ranong, Phang Nga, Phuket, Krabi, Trang, and Satun); the President of the Tourism Industry Council; business operators; media representatives; bloggers; and influencers from both central and Andaman regions at REEVE Beach Club Krabi, Krabi.

Mr. Apichai Chatchalermkit, Deputy Governor for Domestic Marketing of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), stated that TAT is moving forward with promoting year-end marketing efforts, coinciding with the Andaman coast’s tourism season. TAT is encouraging travel to the six southern Andaman coastal provinces: Ranong, Phang Nga, Phuket, Krabi, Trang, and Satun, highlighting the region under the theme “Sea, Sand, Sun: A Paradise for Tourists.” This is backed by global awards recognizing the beauty of its beaches. For instance, Koh Kradan ranked No. 1, and Railay Beach ranked No. 9 in the “100 Best Beaches in the World 2023,” as ranked by the UK-based World Beach Guide. Additionally, Maya Bay was ranked the 3rd best beach in the world for 2024 by Lonely Planet and the 5th best beach globally by the Golden Beach Award 2024 from Beach Atlas, among other national awards.

The Andaman coast tourism promotion activity, Media Fam Trip, aims to generate publicity and create a tourism buzz in the southern region as the Andaman coast’s tourism season opens. The Andaman marine national parks have been open and ready to welcome visitors since November 1, 2024. This initiative also seeks to raise awareness of the various tourist attractions in the southern region, which are well-prepared to accommodate tourists with a range of tourism services and activities, catering to the interests of all types of travelers. This is especially true for high-potential tourists, particularly those with a “sea lifestyle” who enjoy water-based activities and sports. The goal is to invite them to experience the beauty of marine attractions and deliver world-class travel experiences that will create lasting joy and memorable moments (Grand Moments) as part of welcoming Amazing Thailand Grand Tourism and Sports Year 2025.

For this Media Fam Trip, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) brought a group of media representatives to travel along the Phuket-Phang Nga-Krabi route and the Trang-Krabi route from November 7 to 9, 2024. They experienced various tourist attractions such as the Phuket Old Town community, Banana Beach at Coral Island in Phuket, Samet Nangshe in Phang Nga, Emerald Cave, Koh Kradan, and Koh Lao Liang in Trang, as well as Bang Thong Temple and Amataya Wellness in Krabi. The group also participated in the Welcome Reception “Wonder Andaman Night” on November 8, 2024, where they engaged in discussions and updates on tourism products and services with local business networks at Reeve Beach Club Krabi. The aim was to share experiences and promote awareness of local tourism products and services to future visitors.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) invites everyone to embark on a journey and explore the southern region during the high season for Andaman Sea tourism, to create memorable experiences while traveling together.
