Phuket – On January 26, 2025, at 5:00 PM, Associate Professor Dr. Sukree Charoensuk, President of the Sukree Charoensuk Foundation, presided over the press conference for the “Phuket Senior Choir Concert,” organized by the Phuket Senior Choir in collaboration with the Sukree Charoensuk Foundation. The event aims to enhance the quality of life for senior citizens through musical activities while donating part of the proceeds to charity, contributing to the construction of a radiotherapy building at Vachira Phuket Hospital, and supporting the elderly in Phuket.
The “Senior Choir” project originated from research aimed at improving the quality of life for the elderly by using music and songs as a medium to promote happiness and mental well-being. Since its success in 2019, the project has expanded to include 13 choirs across 12 provinces. In Southern Thailand, three senior choirs are active in Yala, Surat Thani, and Phuket.
The objective of this event is not only to create a creative activity that fosters enthusiasm and pride among members of the Phuket Senior Choir but also to raise funds for Vachira Phuket Hospital to construct the radiotherapy building and provide assistance to elderly residents in the area.
The charity concert will be held on March 29, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM at the Royal Phuket City Hotel, Phuket Province. The program features choral performances by 80 senior singers presenting contemporary songs in various languages, including Thai, Chinese, Malay, and English. Additionally, there will be ballroom dancing by members of the Senior Choir and a special performance titled “Pattraphon Yonya”, showcasing traditional local attire to preserve cultural heritage. The event is expected to attract significant interest and support from the general public and donors with goodwill for this charitable cause.
