Phuket – On May 16, 2025, at 5:30 p.m., a press conference titled “Various Issues with the Mayor of Phuket City” (Session 3/2025) was held at the meeting room of the Dragon Courtyard Learning Center, 2nd Floor, Queen Sirikit 72nd Birthday Commemorative Park. The event was organized by the Phuket City Municipality and presided over by Mr. Chalermphon Piyanarongroj, Permanent Secretary of Phuket City Municipality, acting Mayor of Phuket City. Representatives from government agencies, the private sector, and civil society were present in large numbers.

One of the key topics discussed was the preparation for “Phuket City Pride 2025,” scheduled for June 28, 2025, under the “Pride Parade” project. The event aims to promote Phuket as an open, inclusive, and livable city for everyone.

Mr. Chalermphon stated that, as a world-class tourist destination, Phuket should provide creative spaces that promote human rights, diversity, and equality, especially for the LGBTQIAN+ community, who play a vital role in driving social and economic progress. The Pride Parade is not only a platform for celebration but also a powerful expression of pride and acceptance of individual identities.

This year’s Phuket City Pride 2025 will be held under the theme “Wave of Generations,” reflecting the vibrant energy and diversity of the younger generations. Highlights include:
