Phuket – April 22, 2026, 08:30 AM – Ms. Anchalee Vanich Teppabutra, President of the Phuket Art Association, presided over the opening of the “Thailand Biennale, Phuket 2025 Tour” at Sukhothai Pavilion, Four Regions Hall, Phuket Province. She also led a delegation to visit key art exhibition sites, including Chaofa Mine, Khao Rang, and Bangkok Commercial College—locations that have been transformed into learning spaces and contemporary art venues.

Ms. Anchalee stated that Phuket’s honor of hosting ‘Thailand Biennale, Phuket 2025’ represents a significant opportunity to present contemporary art to an international audience. By distributing exhibitions across various locations throughout the province, the event not only provides a platform for artists to express their creative visions but also deeply connects art with local lifestyles, communities, and cultural identities. This initiative is expected to propel Phuket toward becoming a “World Art, Culture & Tourism Destination” in a tangible way.

The event also plays a vital role in strengthening Phuket across multiple dimensions, including the creative economy, quality tourism, and community engagement. Moreover, it enhances the province’s potential to become a leading global destination for art tourism, while fostering a sustainable artistic legacy that can be passed on to future generations.

During the visit, the delegation toured the “Sukhothai Pavilion, Four Regions Hall,” guided by Professor Worapop Tantinantakul, who provided insights into the design concepts, exhibitions by artists from across the country, and the creative integration of contemporary art with regional identities and contexts. The group also visited major exhibition sites, including Chaofa Mine, Khao Rang, and Bangkok Commercial College—key venues under the “Thailand Biennale Phuket 2025” project that reflect creative concepts through local community and spatial contexts.

In addition, Phuket’s program will feature a major highlight on April 25, 2026, at 6:00 PM at Hai Leng Ong Ground (Dragon Square), where the Thailand Biennale flag will be officially handed over to Rayong Province, the next host. The closing ceremony will take place on April 26, 2026, at 2:30 PM at Sukhothai Pavilion, Four Regions Hall—marking the conclusion of activities in Phuket before the artistic journey continues to its next destination.
