Phuket – On August 15, 2025, at 6:30 p.m., at Dragon Square, Chalermprakiat 72nd Anniversary Park, Phuket City Municipality, Mr. Rewat Areerob, President of the Phuket Provincial Administrative Organization, presided over the opening ceremony of the art exhibition showcasing works from a hands-on workshop under the “Phuket International Contemporary Art Festival” project. This event is a key activity in the “Phuket Art City: Creative City Towards the International Contemporary Art Festival” initiative.

The workshop was held from August 13–17, 2025, in Phuket, as part of Activity 3: International Artist Workshop and Four-Region Thai Artist Workshop. The event was honored by the participation of National Artist Dr. Kamol Tassananchalee, who led a total of 93 artists from Thailand and abroad—10 international artists from Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, and Russia, and 83 Thai artists representing the South, North, Northeast, and Central regions.

All participating artists collaborated to create works within the “Four-Region Pavilion,” with all pieces to be collected and officially displayed at the “Thailand Biennale Phuket 2025” from November 29, 2025, to April 30, 2026, in Phuket. The goal is to elevate Phuket onto the global art stage.

A major highlight of the Pre-Biennale was the display of “Bien Foo Lucky Mascot”, the official mascot of Thailand Biennale Phuket 2025—15 creatively designed sculptures, each 1.5 meters tall, symbolizing the happiness and culture of Phuket people. Visitors and tourists were invited to take photos and enjoy the display.

Mrs. Anchalee Vanich Tepabutra, President of the Phuket Art Association, stated that this workshop brought together artists from Thailand and abroad to convey the identity and beauty of Phuket through contemporary art, while also supporting sustainable cultural tourism.
