Phuket – April 4, 2026 – The international “Grand Parade,” held under the theme “BLOOM,” marked a key highlight that grandly opened the Phuket Peranakan Festival 2026. The procession made its way through iconic landmarks in Phuket Old Town, drawing enthusiastic crowds of locals and tourists who lined both sides of the streets to witness the spectacle.

The parade featured Peranakan cultural performances from more than eight countries, each showcasing their unique identities through elaborate costumes, vivid colors, and performances that seamlessly blended tradition with contemporary flair. Participating countries included Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore–India, Vietnam, China, and the Republic of Korea, creating a lively atmosphere of cross-cultural exchange.

In addition, the parade vividly reflected Phuket’s multicultural identity through a rich fusion of diverse ethnic influences—from the graceful elegance of traditional Peranakan processions to international musical elements such as Scottish bagpipes, which added rhythm and vibrancy to the overall atmosphere.
Throughout the parade route, the event was filled with excitement, music, and smiling faces, highlighting the power of arts and culture to unite people from different backgrounds in harmony. The celebration further reinforces Phuket’s image as a truly international cultural city, now flourishing onto the global stage.
