Phuket – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) continues to create a phenomenon with the event “VIJITR 5 Regions @Phuket,” presenting the concept “Pearls of Andaman, the Undiscovered Treasure” from August 24 – September 1, 2024. This event transforms the mining land of Phuket into an enchanting night tourism experience using various modern techniques. The event features 15 spectacular shows in two highlight locations of the province: Old Phuket Town and Saphan Hin Park. This event is the fourth identity area under the “VIJITR 5 Regions” project, aiming to inspire and stimulate actual travel in the area.
The “VIJITR 5 Regions @Phuket” event, under the concept “Pearls of Andaman, the Undiscovered Treasure,” is scheduled for August 24 – September 1, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 12:00 AM.
Discover the beauty of the traditional Peranakan culture, which has been preserved to this day, and dive into the Andaman Sea to search for the pearls of Phuket with modern techniques. Enjoy a full display of lights and sounds blended with contemporary cultural performances to welcome both international and Thai tourists to experience the enchanting night tourism through 15 shows in two locations: the Phuket Nagara Museum (former Chartered Bank building) in Old Phuket Town and Saphan Hin Park.

– **Location 1: Phuket Nagara Museum (former Chartered Bank building), Old Phuket Town** – Show 1: “City of Colors, Paradise of the South” presents modern art mapping technology to showcase the beauty of Sino-Portuguese architectural designs and Chinese artistic details, a unique feature of Phuket from the past to the present.
– **Location 2: Saphan Hin Park** – Featuring 14 shows and 1 landmark, including:
– **Show 2: “Yaya Andaman”** – A design inspired by “Yaya,” a symbol of Phuket, combined with the Yaya costume, adorned with a crown and pearl necklace symbolizing the city, along with a mermaid-like sea-colored tail, representing the beauty of the Andaman Sea.
– **Show 3: “Gateway to the Andaman Sea”** – A journey through a sustainable path in the lush and beautiful mangrove forest.
– **Show 4: “Crabs of the Andaman Sea”** – A photo spot highlighting the sea creatures of the Andaman amidst the richness of the mangrove forest.
– **Show 5: “Colors of the Jellyfish”** – Experience the graceful movements of colorful jellyfish as they lead you into the magical underwater world of the Andaman Sea.
– **Show 6: “Exquisite Art of Sustainability”** – An art installation of a turtle made from marine debris, highlighting responsible tourism and raising awareness of environmental impacts through the issue of marine waste.
– **Show 7: “Glowing Horizon of the Andaman”** – A room filled with the beauty of twinkling lights, like the sunlight on the water at sunset.
– **Show 8: “Lights of Diversity”** – A path of cultural, gender, linguistic, and ethnic diversity reflected through rainbow-colored lights, portraying Phuket as a culturally rich city with the natural beauty of the southern paradise.
– **Show 9: “Wonders of the Underwater Paradise”** – A colorful coral field with the wonders of the underwater creatures swimming and showcasing the vibrant underwater world.
– **Show 10: “Blossoms Under the Ocean”** – A field of sea flowers glowing like fireflies beneath the water, along with jellyfish playing with the light waves.
– **Show 11: “Flowers of the Mining Land”** – The beauty of colorful butterflies in a flower field, standing tall beside an old mining truck, reflecting Phuket’s journey from a mining land to a world-famous tourist destination.
– **Show 12: “Colors of Southern Civilization”** – The beauty of lanterns through local fabric patterns, decorating the city to celebrate the colors and culture of the South.
– **Show 13: “Waves of Andaman Beauty”** – The intricate beauty of the Andaman Sea’s underwater world, filled with vibrant marine life and corals, swimming on fabric like waves.
– **Show 14: “Glittering Waves”** – The beautiful and shimmering movement of the waves as they catch the light.
– **Show 15: “Pearl of the Andaman”** – A light sphere resembling a pearl, sea foam, and bubbles in the Andaman Sea, and the event’s landmark, “Phuket Vijitr Spectacular,” a beautifully lit sign at the entrance that everyone must take a photo of to check in.
Additionally, there will be special performances incorporating light & sound techniques with various effects from 7:00 PM to 10:30 PM every day, with special cultural contemporary shows on August 24-25, 30-31, and September 1, 2024, at 7:00 PM. On these dates, there will also be a fireworks display and a spectacular fire spinning show at 7:30 PM.
Visitors can enjoy the light and sound shows at various points through a walking tour, along with other activities such as performances by local artists, community product stalls, and local food vendors.
