The year 2024 is a golden year for Phuket, marking a historic moment for Thailand. This year, Phuket has achieved two major awards at the IFEA/Haas & Wilkerson Pinnacle Award 2024, organized by the International Festivals & Events Association (IFEA), held in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA. The results were announced on the morning of September 30, 2024 (Thailand time).
Mr. Pattanachai Singhawara, Director of the Southern Region MICE Bureau, accepting the awards on behalf of Phuket, Thailand at IFEA/Haas & Wilkerson Pinnacle Award 2024, held in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA.
The awards that have brought pride to the people of Phuket and the entire nation include the prestigious “World Festival and Event City” award, which highlights Phuket’s comprehensive readiness to host world-class events and festivals.
In addition to this award, the “Phuket Vegetarian Festival” was also honored with the “Grand Pinnacle” award, the highest recognition given by the IFEA, a global organization that brings together experts in event planning from all over the world. This award is considered the “Oscar” of the event industry.
Receiving the “World Festival and Event City” award does not merely signify that a city hosts the most festivals or has the most enjoyable events. Instead, it delves deeper into how a city showcases its unique local stories, traditions, and cultural identity through its festivals in an outstanding manner.
