Phuket – November 16, 2023 Mr. Sattha Thongkham, Phuket Vice Governor presided over the opening ceremony of “Patong Walking Street @The Prism”.

The event was attended by Mr. Theerapong Chuaychoo – Kathu District Chief, Mr. Chalermsak Maneesri – Mayor of Patong, Mr. Kan Prachumpan – CEO of The Beach Group, and representatives from the public and private sectors.

Phuket Vice Governor said that “Patong Walking Street @The Prism” is a great initiative to promote tourism and stimulate the economy in Phuket province. He urged all sectors to collaborate in maintaining cleanliness and beauty by implementing an efficient waste management system. He also wished the event becomes successful and achieved its objectives, becoming a sustainable landmark for tourism in Patong.

Mr. Kan Prachumpan, CEO of The Beach Group, stated that, following the success of Kata Walking Street @The Beach which generates a daily revenue of approximately 1 million Baht and has become a landmark for dining and shopping now, he aims to develop Patong as another prominent destination. Therefore, he has chosen the most beautiful location by Patong Beach to organize Patong Walking Street @The Prism, catering to the new perspectives of tourists visiting Patong.

This chic walking street allows tourists to witness the breathtaking sunset, one of the most beautiful views in Phuket, while they can also indulge in a variety of delicious foods, including seafood, Halal dishes, healthy options, and desserts.

The highlights of this new walking street include famous dishes such as Phuket Dragon Prawns, Barrel Shrimp, Spicy Crab, Crocodile BBQ, Pad Thai, Sticky Rice with Mango, and more.

The event aligns with the concept of becoming a gastronomic city endorsed by UNESCO and meets the health standards set by the Patong City Municipality. The street offers a selection of new and high-quality street food to contribute to the country’s soft power and support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

Over 30 food stalls and 10 service-related stalls are participating.

“Patong Walking Street @The Prism” opens every day from noon until midnight, starting from November 16, 2023 onwards.

This new venue is expected to generate a daily turnover of 2 million Baht.
