Phuket – On April 24, 2025, at 3:30 PM, Mr. Jirawut Suwanach, the Chanthaburi Provincial Commerce Officer, presided over the opening of the “CHANTHABURI CITY OF GEMS” gemstone and jewelry market promotion event. Over 30 small-scale gemstone and jewelry entrepreneurs from Chanthaburi participated in the exhibition and sale of their products, with the goal of advancing production for international markets. The event took place at Central Phuket shopping center, in the Grand Hall activity area on the first floor, Festival Wing.

This gemstone and jewelry market promotion event is held from April 24 to 28, 2025, featuring the display and sale of gemstones and colorful jewelry that are iconic to Chanthaburi, including garnets, rubies, sapphires, citrine, star sapphires, zircon, and many more, transformed into various jewelry items such as necklaces, rings, earrings, bracelets, brooches, and hairpins. These items can be worn alongside traditional Phuket attire, such as the miner’s suit or Baba-Chinese dress, and can be paired with fabrics like batik or other local textiles.

Chanthaburi is a province with a strong potential for the gemstone and jewelry industry, being an important source of gemstones, cutting, and trading in Thailand. The province is also known for its world-renowned skilled gem craftsmen. Therefore, the Chanthaburi Provincial Commerce Office seeks out various platforms for roadshows to help entrepreneurs expand their markets. This aligns with the government’s policy to promote Chanthaburi as the Gem City, which will drive the economic development of the gemstone industry and services to the global competition stage. Additionally, it connects the Chanthaburi gemstone market with Phuket’s pearls, beautifully merging the two. Locals and tourists interested in gemstones are invited to visit and make purchases from April 24 to 28 at the Grand Hall activity area on the first floor of Central Festival Phuket.
