Phuket – On June 2, 2025, at the Chartered Bank Intersection in the heart of Phuket Old Town, the area was transformed into a lively rainbow-colored wonderland to officially unveil the “PRIDE Bunny,” a colorful rabbit mascot symbolizing ‘Phuket City Pride 2025’. The launch took place in a joyful atmosphere filled with the energy of diversity and equality.

This year, Phuket’s Pride celebration is themed “Wave of Generations”, reflecting the interconnection between people of all ages, genders, and identities through creative activities. The rabbit mascot represents gender fluidity and the beauty of unbounded sexual identity. It draws inspiration from ‘Tu’er Shen’ (兔兒神), the Rabbit God and protector of LGBTQ+ individuals in traditional Taoist belief — a symbol deeply rooted in the Chinese heritage of many Phuket locals.

Phuket City Pride 2025 will feature can’t-miss highlights such as a grand parade with over 25 floats from government agencies, private organizations, and famous artists. The parade will take place on June 8, starting at 5:00 PM from Dragon Square to the Chartered Bank Intersection, with rainbow-themed check-in points spread across the Old Town. There will also be an electrifying mini-concert featuring well-known performers at the stage in front of Phuket’s Government Savings Bank branch on Phang Nga Road, running from 8:00 PM to midnight. Parking facilities will be provided for over 800 cars, distributed around key city locations to accommodate attendees.

Phuket City Pride 2025 is not only a celebration for the LGBTQIAN+ community, but also a reflection of the culture, beliefs, and pride of the city of Phuket — a city ready to embrace and stand proudly with diversity. Whenever the PRIDE Bunny appears, it marks the beginning of Phuket’s festival of equality.
